Wedding Week Series: Final Thoughts

Well, it’s official we have come to the last and final post in our wedding week series. While I’m sad to see this series come to a close, I’m happy I was able to share our wedding with our West 5th readers and really show off what was our perfect day. If you haven’t had a chance to catch up, make sure to visit here, before you head into our final post in this series.

As we close this series and head into our one year anniversary in a couple of weeks, it’s been a treat for both myself and Mr. W to share our wedding day with the blog but it also gave us a chance to relive and review those special moments that took place on November 7th.

As I look back on these moments from November 7th, it reaffirms how I feel for my husband and how our love has grown over the year. They say the first year of marriage is the hardest, but to be honest it was an adventure I wouldn’t trade for anything. We learned so much about each other even though I thought we knew it all. We learned what it means to be married and how important it is to truly care for one another in the best way we can.

The love we felt on this day has carried through to each day and even on those hard days where we felt like certain things were hard to figure out, we worked it out. Because at the end of the day you don’t marry someone for their perfection, you marry someone for their best qualities, their faults and flaws and for the deep love that runs between you.

Our first dance song was something I listened to almost every day of the wedding planning process and there is a set of lyrics within that song that really stick with me, even a year later.

“We are not perfect we’ll learn from our mistakes
And as long as it takes I will prove my love to you
I am not scared of the elements I am underprepared,
But I am willing
And even better
I get to be the other half of you”

As my last note on this wedding series, I would love to share our wedding video that captures the whole day and every important moment down to the tears, laughter & love.
