If you want to know what will be the one thing that may overwhelm you throughout the process of wedding planning , it will be Pinterest. While it’s an amazing online planning tool, it can be completely overwhelming because of all the options that it offers and how many ideas you can gather in one sitting.
Well, Mr. W and I finally took on a project I have been dying to get to, our guest room gallery wall! When we decided this space would be half a craft room and half a guest room, my creative juices started flowing and we decided to give this room a focal point. This room has the perfect blank wall that acted as the canvas for our wall and gave us enough room to get creative with what we decided to hang, while it wasn’t a quick project (3 days later) the results were well worth it!
Good Morning! It’s the start of another week, therefore I hope your week moves fast and your coffee (or drink of choice) is strong! I’ve been at this blogging thing for a while now and would love to share a piece of me with you!
Do you find your decor is ever-changing? If your anything like me, your home decor changes on a whim and usually it’s only a few weeks before things are being moved around or reconfigured. I almost find this to be a relaxing technique after doing it for so long, like somehow changing the way my space looks will make me feel more settled and content.
Well, it’s been awhile old friend. I have been away from my little blog for about a year and it sure feels good to be home.
If you have been with us before, you may notice some changes to our overall look, content and feel of the blog. If you haven’t been with us before, let me welcome you to the new West 5th and introduce myself…Hi! I’m Kate! I have been on this wonderful planet for 27 years, I am recently married to the love of my life Mr. W and we live in a little house with two cats in the middle of bustling Vancouver, BC. Living in a place that literally offers water, sand, sun and snow leaves little time to sit down and write, but I’m going to try and combine my two loves of writing and everyday life, right here on West 5th.
When I started this blog, we were living in a fixer up apartment on West 5th which is where the name inspiration for this blog came from, but since then we have moved on to bigger (albeit not in square footage) and better things. So now that everything has settled down in our world, it felt like the right time to reignite my love for this special writing space and really show what West 5th is all about. You’ll see everything from home design, health topics, fashion and the every day ramblings that comes with being a wife, a writer and a wannabe fashionista/home designer/cat wrangler. Okay, maybe not so much on the cat wrangling part, but you get the idea. I hope you stick with me as I start this new (ish) blogging journey all over again.
Let’s do this.
This past long weekend, we decided to tackle our kitchen. Since our first day at West 5th the kitchen has been neon red, so we weren’t exactly sad to see it go.
Vancouver got a real dose of summer this weekend, with temperatures reaching up to 34 degrees! We managed to find ways to beat the heat and even threw in some project time. That brings me to our newest series of posts at West 5th Love about our newest DIY project: Cat Shelves.
